LiL is quite simply a fresh expression of experiences and observations and events, creating good things imbued by the spirit of Hong Kong. A meaningful percentage of sales will be donated to non-profit organizations and projects.
Lilian Tang received her graphic design education in Toronto (York University) and New York (Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts) and returned to Hong Kong in the 1980s to begin her career. She established her studio, Lilian Tang Design (LTD) in 1990. The studio's portfolio ltdhk.com spans award-winning publications, corporate communications, brand identities, packaging and environmental graphics for leading companies and institutions as well as pro bono work. The studio's design practice reflects the influence of Lilian's early mentors namely Henry Wolf, Milton Glaser and Henry Steiner.
Lilian believes good design helps promote well being within society. In 2014, the non-profit Project Bo Lo Bao PBLB was established, connecting graphic design to fundraising. PBLB's programs benefit the elderly, homeless, grassroots families and underprivileged students, and helped fund emergency services during the Covid-19 pandemic.
